Biography
The members of "the MeMes" joined forces in March of 2005. Before hand fellow bandmates, Wilneida,
Nick Lundy, and Craig Mercado enjoyed their own achievements in previous musical projects.
Wilneida was born
in Puerto Rico and after relocating to upstate, NY she made her way down to New York City. Wilneida has been playing
the electric and acoustic guitar, writing and performing her own music since the age of 17. A performace in a local
club in 2004 allowed for a fateful meeting with Tommy Brunjes; a critically acclaimed percussionist that has performed in
such bands as the Murmurs and P.M. Dawn. Their collaboration produced Wilneida's debut EP "Slow". Wilneida wrote all the lyrics
and music on this brilliant debut EP. Tommy contributed to the arrangements with the drums, bass, and additional lead guitar
on two tracks. While making music a full time gig, Wilneida is also working on her PhD in Urban Policy.
Nick
Lundy a drummer from previous band, LadyGood, fatefuly responded to Wilneida's ad one day and the rest has become musical
history. Nick is really driven my the drumming styles of classic rock greats such as Levon Helms and Jon Bonham, and
strives to blend classic rock and modern rock influences into something new and fresh. Nick is also a multi-tasker and
is working on a BA in Business.
In the spirit of recruiting bandmates via ads, Wilneida also met Craig via the Craigslist
directory and quickly enrolled him in "the MeMes" musical project. Craig had previously been in a successful indie rock
band based in Brooklyn that was receiving major label attention. However, after the realities of the music business
hit the group broke off and Craig kept to playing the guitar solo in his home, until he received Wilneida's reply from his
ad.
Since the release of the "Slow" EP in April 2005, Wilneida has received internet radio play on the following

The band was also selected to perform in the NYC/NJ Buzz Band Search in Spring of 2005.
Their
song "Slow" was also among the Top 10 Honorable Mention Winners for the 2005 "International Songwriting Competition". It was
the only song in the Alternative music category to get any recognition.
