Zin Uru - Temple of Hip Hop's No.1 Representative

Where are you from?
Antioch Ca.

What made you get into Hiphop?
I don't feel that anything "made" me get into Hiphop. It feals as natural as breathing.

What are your feelings on the current state of Hiphop Kulture?
I feal excitment. For real. I just got off of tour with the Temple. It was a tour focused primerily on the ministry. We crossed all of the U.S. by way of caravan in three vans. We were a 10 person ministry crew with other responsabilities on the side. What a blessing!!! I personally got to meet so many commited Hiphoppas that I lost count. It ws a whirlwind of energy. The undaground is so emense and so capable. Our Kulture is on the verge of a great awakening.

How different is Hiphop compared to 20 years ago?
Now the Founders are true Elders. When they were young and developing what would become Hiphop Kulture they were lead primerily by the spirit. Now the younger generations have elder Hiphoppas to look towards for guidence. Not only learning from their sucess but also from their mistakes. Saying that let us never forget the original Spirit, all Hiphoppas have the origanal Spirit withen and without.

What direction would you like to see the Kulture move in?
As a new Kulture on Earth, we Hiphoppas need to get down and dirity. If we don't do the necasary work now, what will our ancestors say about us? Will we looked upon as the great civilization builders we know ourselves to be, or will we be looked at as a bunch of no good lazies who let a grand oppetunity slip through our fingers? I have faith that it will be the former.

What role does the Temple of Hiphop play in the Kulture?
We are the ones commited to the preservation of our Kulture. We are the ones documenting our History as told from the perspective of the ones who were there and gave birth to Hiphop. We are the ones pushing the Decleration of Peace forward. We are those commited nation builders.

Do you have any projects in the works?
The office is gearing up for public release of the Gospel of Hiphop. Along with all the Temple work being done through the Temples Administrative Office (T.A.O.) i'm also working on my first album, and my firts book.

Who is your favorite Emcee?
Grandmaster Caz.

Do you have any shout outs or last comments for the readers?
Don't be caught sleeping on the gift that God has given us in Hiphop. Our theme this year is Freedom. What does freedom look like? What does it feal like? Do you want to free yourself, or are you just waiting for someone else to free you? Most of all Do you have the courage to be you ? A big shout out to EVERYBODY involved with the Temple!!!! Peace and much love.
