The vision began in 1994 and manifested itself into master lyricist and hip-hop scholar Legacy Starr. The emerging
artist states, I overstand as an expression of thought which is defined Supreme Style. A style that has it's roots in originality,
allowing one to think beyond the constraints of societal conformity. Legacy Starr is merely a messenger sent to bring forth
a new way of thinking, a new attitude, and an innovative way of viewing the world. He represents that Old School feel with
that New School appeal.When combined, they create elements of True School science. In his lyrical endeavor, Legacy Starr
attempts to stimulate, elevate, educate, and illuminate the minds of all genuine hip-hop fans through knowledge, wisdom, understanding,
and common experience. Legacy Starrhails from the Queens section of New York, and was born and bred during the legendary era
of Grandmaster Flash, RUN-DMC, LL Cool J, and the Juice Crew Allstars. Since the inception of his musical
career, Legacy Starr has performed at a variety of venues across the country, from the Nuyorican Poet's Cafe and CB's Gallery
in NYC to the University of Iowa. In addition, he has gotten airplay from college radio stations in New York to
as far as Portland, Oregon's local radio station KPSU.
Legacy Starr is an expression of a collective consciousness,
which searches for change, musically and spiritually. He asserts that, I am a manifestation of all those who dwell in the
underground of modern living. I exist as the yin to the yang of mainstream music, ideology, and style. I am one of the
links to an era which has been long forgotten but which is still relevant. Legacy is the keeper of the eternal hip-hop flame,
one who can adapt to current trends while maintaining the integrity of the art forms historical roots. He will never
stray far from his belief in the sanctity of hip-hop culture but recognizes the harsh reality of the music business. Legacy
Starr has the ability to move people both physically and mentally. He is here to reveal that the establishment of the so-called
New World Order is nothing more than Old World chaos. As the millennium progresses, the hip-hop world needs to prepare for
the unleashing of a new force, the rising dynamo that is Legacy Starr. Asked how he would liked to be remembered, Legacy states, I
want to be remembered as the voice that resonates throughout the consciousness of the hip-hop world. I would want my music
to be used as a medium for expression and change, both artistically and socially.
